Hi friends,
I’m so glad you’re here.
If you’ve found your way to this corner of the internet, welcome. My name is Stacy Kincer, and I’m a beginner writer, patient advocate, and woman of faith learning to live—and write—through one of the greatest challenges of my life: being diagnosed with interstitial lung disease and mixed connective tissue disease.
This blog is a place where I’ll be sharing not just updates about my debut book, The Race of Your Life: The spiritual and mental battle against an incurable disease, but also the deeply personal moments behind the pages—the breathless battles, the spiritual breakthroughs, and everything in between.
When I first received my diagnosis, it felt like the ground had been ripped out from under me. I was suddenly facing an illness with no cure, no clear answers, and no road map. But in the midst of the fear and uncertainty, I felt a whisper in my spirit—“Write this down.”
I didn’t have all the words then. But I had the will to try.
Because that’s exactly what it feels like—like I’ve been handed the most grueling, uphill marathon I never trained for. Every breath is a victory. Every step forward is a miracle. And I know I’m not the only one running this kind of race. That’s why I’m writing—to tell the truth of what it means to battle illness, wrestle with faith, and still hold on to hope when the outcome is uncertain.
This blog will be a mix of:
Whether you’re here because you’re walking through something similar, supporting someone who is, or just curious about the journey of writing through pain, I hope you find comfort and connection here.
I don’t have all the answers. I’m still learning, still healing, still writing. But I do believe in the power of story. And I believe that God can breathe life into the broken places—through every setback, through every chapter, and even through me.
Thanks for showing up. I can’t wait to share more of this journey with you.
With faith and endurance,
Stacy Kincer
