💔 When Grief Comes

Grief is something every person experiences, yet no two journeys through it look exactly the same. Sometimes grief comes through the death of someone we love. Other times it arrives through illness, unexpected change, broken relationships, or seasons of life that feel heavier than we ever imagined they would be.

Grief has a way of slowing everything down. It quiets the room. It makes ordinary days feel unfamiliar. And in those moments, many of us wrestle with questions we never expected to ask.

Where is God in this?

Sometimes His presence does not feel loud or obvious. Sometimes heaven feels silent. There may even be moments when anger rises in our hearts because we cannot understand why something painful was allowed to happen.

Yet even in those moments, one truth remains steady: God does not leave. Scripture reminds us of this promise in Deuteronomy 31:6, where we are told that the Lord will never leave us nor forsake us. That promise does not disappear in seasons of grief. In fact, it becomes even more important.

What I have learned, and still learning every day, is that God does not stand at a distance from our pain. He steps into it with us. When our hearts are heavy, He sits beside us in the quiet. When the path ahead feels uncertain, He gently guides our steps forward.

He is not impatient with our grief. God is not asking us to hide our emotions or pretend we are strong. He invites honesty. He welcomes our tears, our questions, and even our frustrations. We can bring all of it to Him.

Healing rarely happens overnight. Grief moves at its own pace, and that is okay. Give yourself time. Allow your heart to process what it has lost. Let God meet you in the middle of it.

Even in the valley, His love remains constant. His comfort is real. His peace can reach places in our hearts that nothing else can. And slowly, sometimes quietly, He carries us forward.

💬 A Thought for You

If you are walking through grief today, remember this: you are not walking through it alone. God is not afraid of your pain. Invite Him into the hard moments and allow Him to sit with you there.

🙏🏽 A Prayer

Lord,

You see every heart that is hurting today. You know the weight of grief that many are carrying, even the pain that has not yet been spoken out loud. Help us remember that You are near, even when Your voice feels quiet. Give us the courage to bring our honest feelings to You without fear. Comfort the places in our hearts that ache and remind us that Your love never leaves us. Walk with us through the valleys and guide us gently toward healing. Fill our hearts with Your peace and surround us with Your presence. In the precious name of Jesus, we pray, amen.

🙇🏽‍♀️ A Closing Thought

Grief may change the landscape of our lives, but it does not change the faithfulness of God. Even in the quiet moments, even in the valleys, His presence remains.

And sometimes the greatest comfort is simply knowing that He is sitting beside us, carrying us through.
